The phenomenal growth rates which were seen in recent years are definitely over, but this is no housing market crash. Demand is still strong and sales have stabilized and prices are more realistic now. The Idaho housing market is experiencing a correction. This is no bad thing as homes become more affordable thereby attracting new buyers. The economy remains strong and with unemployment and interest rates low, there are still plenty of buyers out there. The market has shifted into a buyer’s market and sellers are having to become more competitive with their prices.
So, buyers have a lot more choice and sellers are having to attract buyers with added incentives and competitive pricing. The more realistic the price, the better chance you have of making a sale.
So even though there is less confidence within the building industry, the market is still strong and this is the prefect time for those people who have been waiting to enter the housing market over the past couple of years. Buyers should negotiate hard to make sure they get the bets deal for their homes and sellers will have to consider incentives to attract buyers.
